Triathlete
From couch to Ironman—chasing distance, speed, and the joy of movement.
I love getting others into sport and helping them get faster.
My Story
I wasn’t always an athlete. I was overweight, unmotivated, and stuck. Small, consistent changes turned into big momentum: first walks, then rides and runs, then races. I discovered how much joy and purpose sits on the other side of discomfort—and I’ve been pushing those edges ever since: faster splits, longer distances, and smarter recovery.
I’ve finished Ironman Texas (2025), Waco 70.3 (2024), completed the Hotter’N Hell Quadzilla multiple times (about to be #4), run three Cowtown Marathons (plus San Antonio), and I keep an annual tradition: add +50 miles to one big ride each year—250 last year.
Fueling & Hydration
I mix my own electrolytes and gels for long training and race days and have a short list of “plays that always work” (drinks, sodium, carbs/hr) across heat, long base days, and race intensity. Everyone’s gut is different—so we test in training and lock it in well before race day.
- Baseline plan for carbs/hr, sodium, fluids by temp and duration.
- Different mixes for ride‑only vs. bike‑to‑run days.
- Minimal gear checklist for reliable execution.
Recent Highlights
- Ironman Texas (2025) — Full distance finisher.
- Waco 70.3 (2024) — Half distance finisher.

Why I Coach
The best part of this sport is sharing the joy I found—helping someone finish their first 70.3, run farther than they thought possible, or take 10 minutes off a PR. If you’re new to endurance or looking to level up, I’d love to help.
